Principal's Message

Dear Families,

I will begin with a big thank you to all the parents, students and staff for a tremendous start to the school year.  With everyone pulling together, we are doing very well with all the changes.  We are adjusting to new mask protocols, play zones outside, new lunch routines, etc.  We are so thankful for our outdoor classroom and local trail system; both are providing many opportunities for our students.  Some of our September highlights included the arrival of new staff, Pink Shirt Day, Orange Shirt Day, Treaty Day, and the classroom Terry Fox walk.

In honour of Mi’kmaq History Month, we acknowledge that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People.  We are privileged and proud to live and learn here.

Please join us in welcoming our new Education Assistants Amanda Woodworth and Melanie McCulloch. They have been with us a short time but have already made significant contributions to our school.

Thank you for keeping the lines of communication open.  We sincerely appreciate the daily information coming from home regarding transportation or plans at the end of the school day.  Please include your child’s full name (first and last), specifically where they are going after school (a house number or family name), which bus number they will be on, and who the driver is.  The more information you can provide will save the office staff from having to make follow-up phone calls.  Thanks for your understanding.
